  1. On laptop computers, the APM support provides access to battery status
  2. information and may help you to conserve battery power, depending on your
  3. laptop and the APM implementation.
  4.  
  5. Here's what apmd can do:
  6.  
  7.     - apmd(8): can log the battery status to syslog every now and take
  8.       action when the power status changes
  9.     
  10.     - apm(1): a command-line tool to print the current battery status
  11.       or suspend the computer;
  12.  
  13.     - xapm(1x): provides a battery meter for X;
  14.     
  15.     - libapm.a: a library for writing applications that interface with
  16.       the Linux APM subsystem.
